About our Breast Cancer Support program

Designed by Katie as she went through her own breast cancer journey.

Katie, founder of Durga Mindfulness, is an experienced yoga and meditation teacher and a breast cancer survivor.  In Katie's own journey with breast cancer, she practiced yoga and meditation to support her every day during her treatment and to help her heal.  Ancient yogic wisdom came off the pages of books she had studied for years and came into her daily life, helping her make sense of a challenging time and maintain an attitude of hope.  Katie has no doubt that her practice helped her cope with treatment and allowed her body to heal.  She is passionate about sharing these practices with other women - so much so that during her treatment she completed her training with REWIND HEALTH in the USA in yoga for women with breast cancer, the program based on effectiveness research done by the MAYO Clinic in the USA.


Growing amounts of research show the benefits of yoga practice to help you manage fatigue, emotional wellbeing, anxiety, fear and side effects from breast cancer treatment.  In particular, the benefits of restorative yoga, breath work and meditation are being noted.  Katie experienced these benefits directly throughout her treatment and she now shares the practices and wisdom with you to help you.


This is an online and on-demand program to support you through your breast cancer journey, consisting of:

  • wisdom videos, covering topics such as looking at breast cancer differently, the power of your thoughts, patience, how your nervous system helps you to heal, letting go of things you cannot control, and dealing with hair loss. 
  • a range of gentle practice videos for different stages of your journey - nourishing floor based restorative yoga, yin yoga, guided meditations, yoga nidrā (yogic sleep), mantra and gentle chair yoga.


This program allows you to practice in the privacy of your own home, at any time you need to, on any device and fully supported by a yoga teacher qualified to work with women with breast cancer.  Your loved ones may also want to practice with you as this is often a challenging time for the whole family.


In this program, you will:

  • learn practices and wisdom that help tap into the power of your mind to help you heal and change your experience of breast cancer,
  • release your body through gentle nourishing movement, 
  • practice breath work, meditation and mantra to calm your mind and help you manage treatment, 
  • calm your nervous system allowing your body to shift into repair and heal mode,
  • practice yoga nidrā and guided meditations to improve your sleep, and
  • receive perspectives that may help accept hair loss and other body changes.


The introductory price for this program is $85 (Australian dollars) which gives you access to all 17 of the videos in the program.  Please contact Katie if you have any further questions.   This is a great idea for a gift for a friend or family member going through breast cancer.
